Dana and Kevin are officially husband and wife! The two tied the knot in a beautiful summer wedding at The Woodlands at Woodbury, which is now known as The Mansion at Oyster Bay! Surrounded by those they love most, they exchanged vows at their church and partied all night long at the mansion!
The lovebirds first met through a mutual friend back in high school but it wasn’t until a year later when they finally went on a first date. As you could probably assume, the date went really well. This lead to more dates, calling themselves official, moving in together, and eventually, a proposal.
On a Friday night in May, Dana and Kevin went for dinner in Port Jefferson followed by crepes for dessert and a walk around town. It was such a beautiful, well planned night, (something Kevin never does) several people thought this was it, he was for sure going to propose. But, he didn’t.
However, the next morning, Dana woke up to a note on the bedroom door which said, “Follow me for memorable moments in our relationship.” The house was strung with ribbon that had notes attached, reminiscing on some of their best moments as a couple such as their first date, first kiss, etc. They all lead to the den, their favorite room in the house, where the final note was, it read, “our engagement”. She looked up and found Kevin on one knee. He asked her to marry him, she very quickly responded “YES!” It was everything they ever wanted and Dana was completely surprised.
That ribbon lead us all the way here, The Mansion at Oyster Bay, for their wedding day! The couple was most looking forward to seeing each other for the first time as they walked down the aisle, saying their vows, and sharing that kiss as husband and wife!
As for what ended up being their favorite part, Dana and Kevin loved seeing all their family and friends dancing all night. “That may have been the most fun we ever had and we were so happy to share it with everyone we love.”
Now, when it comes to a wedding dress, you just know. There is a feeling that tells you “this is it.” For Dana, she had this feeling with the very first dress she tried on. However, she knew it wasn’t complete and didn’t feel that bridal feeling she needed, so she kept looking. It was not until the third store when the saleslady told her she could customize the dress, that she felt that feeling. They combined the skirt from one dress with the style of the original dress and created the gown of her dreams. It was a long white lace gown with straps. See for yourself!
After nine years together, this beautiful couple finally had their dreams come true. Here’s the advice they’d share with those planning to do the same. “Make sure everything you want is in writing in your contract. We had an amazing DJ and MC – definitely do your research and don’t let that be something that you compromise on, pick exactly who you want because ours made our wedding unforgettable. You can plan as much as possible, but something will probably go a little wrong that day. Don’t stress out over it – chances are, you’re the only one who noticed. Just enjoy your wedding, it will be one of the happiest days of your life.”
Congrats to the happy couple! Your wedding at The Mansion at Oyster Bay was unforgettable!
