Atlantis Aquarium Wedding: Nikki & TJ

We simply cannot stop talking about how absolutely, jaw-droppingly gorgeous Nikki and TJ’s wedding at Atlantis Aquarium was. This venue is one of the most unique we have ever shot at and the way Nikki and TJ decorated it was impeccable.

This perfect pair was simply meant to be as they met 6 years ago by coincidence. TJ and his friends were renting the house across the street from Nikki’s parents’ house. As soon as they met, they hit it off and soon became inseparable. After dating for a year, the two decided to move in together. Then, last year, Nikki came home from work on a normal Thursday evening, only, it was not a normal evening. When she opened the door, she saw hundreds of candles and roses covering the entire apartment. TJ popped the question and Nikki, of course, said yes. Minutes later, she found out all of her closest friends were waiting downstairs to surprise her!

Fast forward to today, at Atlantis Aquarium where Nikki and TJ officially tied the knot. The two were most looking forward to the ceremony. They couldn’t wait to walk down the aisle and say “I do!” And it lived up to their expectations! Their ceremony went smoothly and was filled with so much love. Nikki’s father walked her down the aisle after the adorable flower girl covered it in petals.

Speaking of flowers, the florist did a wonderful job. There were flowers pretty much everywhere you looked. Nikki’s bouquet was a show stopper with Juliette Roses, which were only seen in her bouquet. The flower girl wore a flower crown (which turned into a flower necklace) filled with color! And let’s not forget about that chuppah! It had giant white flowers crawling up the sides with a sheer blue top, made just for them to match their color scheme.

Since this wedding already had a nautical ambiance as it was at an aquarium, Nikki and TJ ran with it, using a blue backlight. They added light blue tablecloths to carry it over and topped it all off with hints of peach and pink in the flowers and bridesmaids dresses to pop against the blue.

When it came to attire, Nikki knew exactly what she wanted. From the very beginning, she was certain she was going to wear a Limor Rosen gown. Nikki was in love with the style and the boho-chic look. She wanted her gown to be comfortable, relaxed, easy to move in, and light because of their summer wedding. She waited until there was a trunk show in NYC where the soon-to-be-bride tried on five dresses before choosing the one.

As for her bridesmaids’ dresses, she wanted them to get the same color pink, but in whatever style they felt most comfortable in. All 7 bridesmaids got their dresses from Reformation, Nikki’s go-to designer. The light pink color looked flawless next to Nikki’s white dress as well as the groom’s light grey fitted suit. Not to mention the way everyone popped beside the groomsmen’s navy suits.

During Nikki and TJ’s reception, all their guests had a blast. They hired a saxophone player who kept everyone on their feet. The bride and groom loved seeing everyone have such a great time. Especially because just two days before their wedding, their band canceled! But, as Nikki advised for future brides, she didn’t stress the small things! It all worked out in the end.

On top of that, Nikki wants brides to “make sure to take a few minutes throughout the day and soak it all in and really appreciate everyone that’s there for you – it’s an incredible feeling.”

A huge congratulations to Nikki and TJ on their wedding! Our jaws are still on the floor from this incredible day! We are so glad we had the chance to be a part of it! Make sure to check out their wedding video, here
