A Valentine’s wedding at The Barn at Old Bethpage

The Barn at Old Bethpage wedding

How They Met & The Proposal

As photographers, we love capturing love stories that feel like they were meant to be, and this couple’s journey is nothing short of magical. Especially after saying their I Dos on Valnetine’s Day at The Barn at Old Bethpage. Their story began on Bumble, where a simple shared answer led to a playful yet fateful question: “Are we soulmates?” That was Joe’s first message to his bride-to-be, and fate had already started weaving its magic. Interestingly, she had worked with Joe’s sister, a guidance counselor at the same school where she taught.

When it came time for Joe to propose, he had everything planned out perfectly—except for one unexpected hiccup. Just before Christmas, on the evening he intended to pop the question, the water in their apartment was shut off due to a leak next door. As she was getting ready for what she thought was a dinner with friends, maintenance workers filled their apartment. Joe was on edge, worried that the proposal would be derailed. They even had to shower in a vacant apartment! Luckily, just 20 minutes before he got down on one knee, the maintenance workers finished their job and restored their water. That night, in the cozy warmth of their home, Joe finally asked the love of his life to marry him, making the chaotic evening one of the most memorable of their lives.

The Most Special Moment of Their Wedding Day

One of the most anticipated moments of their wedding at The Barn at Old Bethpage was their first dance. We had the privilege of capturing every step, every turn, and every heartfelt glance as they performed a dance they had been perfecting for four months. The effort and dedication they put into it made the moment even more special. To top it all off, their dance teachers attended as guests and gave a spectacular performance themselves, adding an extra touch of magic to the evening.

Personal Touches & Favorite Moments

Every wedding we photograph is unique, but this one stood out with its personal and creative touches. From their choreographed first dance to a mesmerizing magic quick-change dance show, the couple ensured their guests were entertained all night long. The joy and excitement in the air were undeniable, and capturing those candid moments of love and laughter made our job even more rewarding.

The Fashion: A Look to Remember

The bride’s dress was a beautiful surprise, even to herself. She had always imagined something elaborate, but when she found a simple, sparkly gown, she knew it was the one. She radiated elegance and timeless beauty, choosing to wear her hair down for a natural, romantic look. Joe, on the other hand, had been adamant about not wearing a bow tie—until he surprised everyone by donning one on the big day. These little personal details made for stunning photographs and even sweeter memories.

Florals & Wedding Decor

Flowers played a significant role in bringing their vision to life at The Barn at Old Bethpage. The couple dreamed of a fairytale wedding, and they truly achieved it with breathtaking floral arrangements by Dalsimer Spitz and Peck. The ceiling of the dance floor was adorned with cascading flowers, creating an enchanting setting. To complement the florals, soft candlelight illuminated the centerpieces, making every table glow with warmth and romance. Dalsimer Spitz and Peck ensured that every floral element was carefully crafted to enhance the fairytale ambiance, and every detail came together seamlessly. Capturing it all through our lens was a dream come true.

Their wedding was a romantic fairytale brought to life. Every element, from the décor to the lighting, was carefully curated to create an atmosphere of pure magic. The Barn at Old Bethpage provided the perfect backdrop for their vision, with its rustic charm and timeless elegance.
