Chateau Briand Wedding: Jamie and Michael

You know what they say about, “love at first sight?” Well, those people couldn’t be more wrong. Michael and Jamie have a love story to write about and love at first sight was exactly where their story started.

At 17, Jamie was working at an ice cream shop to make money while doubling to get her bachelor’s degree in biology. Michael was good friends with a coworker of hers and came to visit one day. In Jamie’s words, “At first glance, our eyes locked. I know it sounds cliche but it was definitely love at first sight!”

From that day on, they never separated and years later, on a trip to California with Jamie’s family, he popped the question they all had been waiting for.

As usual their families rejoiced and the wedding was set. It was a beautiful ceremony and they both agree on a few of their favorite parts. One was when they shared their vows together. It really was a powerful moment with a church full of friends and family who are there to support this marriage.

Jamie’s favorite part brings tears to more eyes that just hers. Her favorite part, among many, of course, was her grandmother dancing at the reception. Jamie’s grandmother has fought tooth and nail since she had brain surgery a few months prior. Through the good days and bad her grandmother, Nannie, kept telling Jamie she would be dancing at her wedding. So when the moment came and Nannie got out to shake it on the dance floor Jamie was not the only one grinning with tears in her eyes.

The wedding was immaculate and the color purple could be found in every small detail. Purple is Jamie’s favorite color and was a tone of inspiration in deciding how she wanted her wedding to look. They even took a chance on DIY projects including baskets, the welcome sign, menus, and more. The colors and decor came together perfectly for this amazing September wedding.

If love at first sight wasn’t enough to love the story of these two, then their family and incredible taste should win you over. We enjoyed every moment of their wedding as their chosen Long Island photographers and wish them a long life full of smiles and laughter.
