Chateau Briand Wedding: Leigh & Nicholas

Before their Gatsby-themed wedding at Chateau Briand, Leigh and Nicholas met working at Starbucks. The two quickly fell for one another, and eventually moved in together.

One morning, after a nail appointment (good one Nick!), Leigh returned to her apartment to find rose petals and candles. In the middle of a heart made of rose petals was Nick in a suit and tie. Leigh joined him in the middle as he asked her to be his wife. Of course, she said yes!

Later that evening, he brought his now-fiancee to their favorite restaurant where, to her surprise, both of their families were waiting. Leigh was in a state of shock and bliss from the moment she stepped into her apartment that day until the end of their engagement party!

The couple couldn’t pick just one moment in which they were looking forward to the most. Leigh was excited to walk down the aisle alongside her father and they both couldn’t wait for their first dance. Most of all though, they were really looking forward to their first look.

And it surpassed expectations! Both the bride and groom became very emotional. “It brought me such happiness to see Nick looking at me with such love and joy in his eyes.” Could you ask for anything better?

To personalize their wedding day at Chateau Briand, Leigh and Nick matched their wedding invitation, bride’s dress, and wedding cake with the same art-deco fan pattern. Since their wedding was in November, Leigh wanted to make sure it wasn’t your stereotypical fall wedding. Instead, she chose to go with a Great Gatsby theme. However, she was sure not to make her wedding feel like a giant costume party, so she left out the feathers, pearls, top hats, and fringe dresses.

Instead, she chose to go with a running color scheme of cranberry, white, and navy blue. The groom and groomsmen wore blue suits with cognac shoes and ties that matched the velvet cranberry-colored bridesmaids dresses.

Most importantly, the bride wore a long gown with a v-neck, lace shoulders, and a lace overlay. Leigh went into her wedding with a vision of opulence and romance and made sure her wedding dress followed that. She styled her hair with a silver hairpiece to match the theme as well.

As for the decor of the ballroom at Chateau Briand, the newlyweds went for elegance without being too busy. They opted for round low centerpieces so that the guests could have a conversation without flowers in the way. These centerpieces included roses and “faith roses” which had both Leigh’s late grandmothers namesake and were the most breathtaking shade of mauve she’d ever seen.

Leigh and Nick did such a wonderful job planning their big day at Chateau Briand. And we are so glad we had the chance to capture it all on camera! Congratulations, you two! Have the best time on your honeymoon!
