Maddie and Chris met back in high school during their sophomore year at St. Francis Prep. They eventually started dating and knew that they were with the one they would be with forever. So, Chris got down on one knee in Long Island City after dinner at Maiella on the water. Maddie, of course, said yes. Which is how we got to this magnificent wedding at Harbor Club at Prime. 

These lovebirds could not wait for their ceremony! “Walking into the church was so nerve-wracking and the most exciting moment in my life!” said Maddie who was walked down the aisle by her father. During their Greek orthodox wedding, the two held candles beside one another. They also participated in a few other traditions like walking around the table which meant taking their first steps as husband and wife. 

When it came to florals, Maddie wanted simple and elegant. So, the church had 2 large arrangements on the altar and the pews were decorated with tool and hydrangeas. As for the reception, the couple used 4 big table arrangements and the rest were small to ensure everyone could see the dance floor. They were filled with hydrangeas, orchards, roses, and peonies, which were also in Maddie’s bouquet. 

Speaking of the reception, once the bride and groom had made their grand exit from their church, everyone made their way over to Harbor Club at Prime. The dance floor was never empty thanks to an awesome DJ and a phenomenal percussionist. Maddie and Chris even tried their hand at the drums! 

Due to the fact that Maddie is Romanian and Chris is Greek, there were a whole lot of circle dances that evening! They tried their best to combine their cultures during their wedding day and pulled it off really well! Everyone had such a great time. 

We asked Maddie and Chris if they had any advice to share with other couples who are planning their day, here’s what they said. “Enjoy every moment and try not to get stressed by the details since everything works out anyway. Remember- you can’t control weather or time!”
