Lawrence Yacht Club Wedding: Kelly + Brian

As a wedding photographer, every love story we capture is unique and special. Recently, we had the privilege of documenting the beautiful journey of Sarah and Brian, affectionately known as Boomer, whose love story unfolded in unexpected ways, leading them to a breathtaking Lawrence Yacht Club wedding.

When and where did you meet, tell us the whole story?

“I was moving into a new apartment with my friend, and there was an extra bedroom. Brian (Boomer) just got a new job in Long Beach and was looking for a place to live. His friend reached out and asked if he could move in with us. I was also friends with his cousin, so I had always heard his name in conversations but had never met him before. The first time we ever met was when we were moving a couch into our new apartment.”

Their journey began in the most unexpected of places, amidst the chaos of moving furniture and the excitement of new beginnings. Little did they know, this chance encounter would set the stage for a love story that would transcend time and space.

How was your first date?

“Boomer took me to a place in the city that had an amazing menu for drinks. I politely tried one of the drinks, until he noticed I wasn’t really drinking it. I think I won him over when I told him I’d prefer to just drink a bud light.”

Their first date was a blend of nervous excitement and genuine connection. As they shared stories over drinks, they discovered a mutual love for simplicity and authenticity, laying the foundation for a relationship built on honesty and laughter.

What is your favorite thing to do together?

“Watch football.”

Their shared love for football became a cornerstone of their relationship, providing moments of joy and camaraderie as they cheered on their favorite teams side by side.

When did you know he/she was the one?

“When we knew we weren’t allowed to watch episodes of a series without the other one present.”

In the quiet moments of togetherness, Sarah and Boomer realized that their bond was not just about shared interests, but about the deep sense of companionship and understanding they found in each other.

How was the proposal?

“Boomer and I own a home together, and my favorite room in the house is our dining room. We went out to dinner and when we came home he went into the dining room and immediately turned on the lights. I entered the room and he was down on one knee. After I said yes he unlocked our front door. Seconds later our family and friends were with us to celebrate!”

Boomer’s proposal was a testament to their shared love and commitment, surrounded by the warmth and familiarity of their home. With family and friends by their side, they embarked on the next chapter of their journey together.

WHEN YOU THINK OF YOUR WEDDING DAY, WHAT DO YOU ENVISION? WHAT IS THE MOST IMPORTANT THING FOR YOU?

“We just want our wedding to be a day celebrating/partying with our family and friends. The most important thing for us is our family. We want to make sure everyone has a good time!”

Their vision for their wedding day was simple yet profound: a celebration of love, laughter, and cherished moments shared with those closest to their hearts. For Sarah and Boomer, family was at the center of it all, as they eagerly awaited the day when they would unite their lives surrounded by love and joy.

As their Lawrence Yacht Club wedding approaches, we are honored to be a part of their journey, capturing the magic of their love story as it unfolds amidst the beauty of the sea and the promise of a lifetime together.
