The Inn at New Hyde Park Wedding:

If anything is for sure, Nicole and Kjell achieved the non-traditional wedding they were going for! This bride and groom chose to make their wedding at The Inn at New Hyde Park a bit more unique than your standard wedding. They added a ton of their own personal flares so their big day reflected them as a couple.

For starters, Nicole chose to wear a light pink wedding dress designed by Vera Wang. She ultimately chose this gown because she felt it was out of the box and fun! To really make her outfit feel like her though, she threw on a leather jacket and a pair of personalized sneakers that Kjell designed. Nicole’s creative outfit was exactly why she and Kjell couldn’t wait for their first look!

A ceremony is always special, but it is just that much more special when a close friend or family member officiates it. Which is why Nicole and Kjell had Kjell’s cousin officiate for an incredibly heartfelt ceremony.

Yet another personal touch, the bouquet Nicole carried down the aisle was wrapped in her grandfather’s tie. He passed away right before she got engaged so this was a great way to pay tribute to him.

Speaking of flowers, this couple chose very uncommon florals for their big day. Nicole loves succulents so she had to incorporate them. However, she didn’t know where. So, she talked to her florist (Village Florist & Events) and gave her a few directions including succulents, greenery, and pink flowers. When they saw how everything turned out, they were blown away. The enchanted forest atmosphere they had hoped for was created using greenery and forest green and blush pink undertones.

The bride and groom’s guests were incredible! They spent the whole night dancing, never leaving the dance floor unless they had to. One of those times was during the speeches. A bridesmaid and groomsmen gave what one Facebook member called the “BEST. SPEECH. EVER!”

Our favorite part, however, was the desserts! More specifically, their cake. It combined their two favorite snacks, popcorn and donuts. Shockingly, it was as delicious as it was beautiful. They also had a donut wall and a spiked milkshake and cookie bar. Is your mouth watering right now? Us too.

This wedding was one of the most unique and personal weddings we’ve ever been to. No matter how big or small, everything at The Inn at New Hyde Park had a sprinkle of Nicole and Kjell. Congrats to the newlyweds! Wishing you a lifetime of happiness!

PS. Here’s some advice from Nicole. “Don’t stress over little details as the day itself will go by so quickly. Also, it’s just one day! One big, crazy, fun, jam-packed day and while it’s a huge part of your relationship, the real magic is in the marriage itself.” And most importantly, “don’t forget to eat!”
