When it comes to a wedding, it’s important to make it feel like you. To personalize it, make it your own, make it about your love. Christina and Tyler did just that for their Harbor Club at Prime wedding a few weeks ago.

There were so many things this couple chose to use to make this wedding all about them, their family, and their traditions. Since Christina loves pictures (us too!) she wanted a lot of them around the room. So, she designed the table numbers to match the age they were in the pictures. She added generations of wedding photos as table cards with the names and dates of the family members. Due to the fact that a few of those family members are no longer with us, it was a beautiful way to pay homage to them. 

You’re probably wondering where this beautiful couple met! Well, they both unwillingly attended LIU Post their first semester of college. They had back to back classes and found themselves sitting near one another. Soon after they started talking, which lead to hanging out, which lead to going on dates. Five years of dates later, Tyler proposed to Christina at the Top of the Rock in New York City. 

The theme of this wedding was purples. Just about everything was light or dark purple, from bridesmaids dresses from Blu Rayne Bridal to the floral arrangements from Pedestals. Christina and Tyler tried to stick with a modern look as much as possible, however, the church was very traditional. In fact, so traditional that Christina was the 4th generation to be married in that chapel. How cool! 

Now, let’s talk about that wedding dress! When Christina went to find the dress for her, she tried on a bunch of styles until she felt that bridal feeling. When she tried on her dress, her mother, sister, Tyler’s mother, and Tyler’s sister all started to cry, so she knew it was the one. She added a bracelet to the ensemble, a borrowed one, the one her sister wore to her wedding. She completed it all with some sparkly silver shoes. 

As for Tyler, he was dressed in a mix of a classic and modern black tuxedo. In order to match the bride, he wore an ivory vest. His best man matched the maid of honor in a dark purple tie, and his groomsmen matched the bridesmaids in light purple ties. 

During the party, Christina surprised Tyler with a flash mob! She has been a dancer since she was 2 so she knew she had to add in a dance. Yet, she wanted it to be funny and about Tyler, therefore, she incorporated fire because he is a fireman. She loved getting to dance with her friends, bridesmaids, moms, and flower girls! 

Here’s some advice Christina had to offer for future couples planning their wedding: “Have fun with it! I truly enjoyed planning. It shouldn’t be stressful. We would highly recommend EXO Photography because you got all the essentials for the day but also gave us space when we needed to eat quickly before taking more pictures or when we were dancing with friends. From what I have seen so far from the photos too, they are exactly what we were looking for!! Thank you!”
