Exquisite, bold, dramatic.
These are a few of the words that came to mind as we photographed Wilmyn and Divine’s Fox Hollow wedding near Long Island.
Wilmyn recalls the first time they met while they were both going to school at Farmingdale State. She asked, “…and who are you?” He said his name was Divine Best. She replied, “No, your real name.” From there, he asked if she’d like to see his birth certificate and they both thought it might be over. Divine never forgot this experience and was only a little hesitant years later when they finally decided to take their friendship to the next level. The rest was history.
Turns out, the next level was the best decision they both made. Their wedding day at Fox Hollow was full of shine, sparkle, and smiles. She wanted dramatic, he wanted the right colors and the compromise was one extremely memorable celebration! Needless to say, they made it all happen and it went without a hitch. The planning was extensive, Divine’s suit along took months to find and perfect for the day and Wilmyn wanted an entrance that would blow everyone away and the planning was worth it all.
Wilmyn’s favorite moment of the day was walking down the aisle. After all the planning, getting ready, pictures, smiles, and songs, it was a moment where she could look at her future husband’s face and felt completely at ease. Likewise, they both had a great time on the dancefloor and gave the bridesmaids comfortable ballet slippers to dance it and the dancefloor was never empty after the first song!
This couple’s advice to future brides consists of getting creative, working hard to plan ahead, and to sit back, eat, drink, and enjoy one of the best days of your life. We couldn’t agree more and were very lucky to capture this special day.
