We’ve all heard the stories of blind dates going sour, but this blind date was a near miss instead. After setting up a blind date, Jen and Vin nearly missed their chance to meet each other.

Both nervous and worried so much so that they both considered canceling the date altogether. Deciding against it at the last minute, they both went, but Jen showed up 20 minutes late! Despite thinking the date would be a disaster, it was anything but.

This idea of capitalizing on opportunities played a role until the day of the big question. The proposal was small and quiet in their apartment, but Vin had actually tried to pop the question twice before. Missing his chances because he thought she knew what was coming, he finally asked her in their apartment as the perfect surprise. Jen and Vin are the type that focus on each other and don’t need a crowd and the small proposal was the perfect opportunity for Vin to ask the big question.

This laid back couple loves the beach- it’s the only vacation spot they choose- which is why it was the perfect spot for their engagement session. Despite a rescheduling due to weather once before and chilly weather on the day they were finally taken, Jen and Vin were flexible and easy to work with. We were honored to be their chosen Long Island photographers and take them to Atlantic Beach, one of their favorite spots, to capture this beautiful couple.
