Bridgeview Yacht Club Wedding: Marco and Evana

They say the eyes tell the story so when Marco virtually “winked” to Evana on Match.com, he was crossing his fingers it would be enough. Luckily for him, Evana was interested. Their first date was at a Greek restaurant in Forest Hills on a cold January day and it went very well.

Only a month later, he asked her to be his girlfriend and it was a obvious yes. But then, things got heated.

In 2016, only a few months after dating they promised to one another that if they made it to their one year anniversary that they would get a reservation at Per Se. Marco had actually made the reservations months in advance and was just hoping they would make it that far.

They made it to one year, ate at the incredible Per Se, and after an amazing dinner, they went out in the middle of Columbus Circle and Marco went down on one knee and asked Evana for the rest of their lives together!

Fast forward a few months and wedding planning was in full effect. Evana and Marco worked well together and planned nearly every single aspect and detail of their special day so they felt like they left their fingerprint on everything. Evana’s favorite color was lavender and that gorgeous color was used throughout the day on various parts. The bridesmaids dresses, hints in floral arrangements, and the groomsmen’s ties just to name a few.

They say that a wedding almost never goes as planned and that works out best when the bride and groom plan surprises for each other! Evana surprised Marco at the reception by singing a song for him.

This couples advice on planning a wedding: “Wedding planning… will never be 100% to plan. But during that moment of difficulty, you work through it as a couple, and you grow and become even closer and stronger as a couple.”
