The recent, January wedding at Fox Hollow between Paula and Michael, was the beautiful, stress-free occasion we all hope for. The couple met at a mutual friend’s party that they both begrudgingly attended. After a few stolen glances, the two began chatting and set their first date two weeks later. They both knew, early on, that this was it for them.
The wedding occurred between Christmas and New Years, so the couple decided to embrace the timing with strategic decor. The Fox Hollow celebration room, decorated with centerpieces of branches and white flowers, to mimic colors of winter white. The centerpieces also included crystals and lights, to give the room that “winter wonderland” aesthetic. The DIY favors, little bottles of Prosecco personalized with tags and ribbons. The guests were encouraged to take them home, or even pop them during the party, to keep with the New Year theme!
For those who are not familiar with the Fox Hollow, it is a luxury hotel and event venue located on Long Island. They’ve been putting on celebrations for many decades, and are a staple amongst the local events community.
Here is some advice from Paula for you on your wedding day:
“Just have fun with it! It is easy to get caught up and stress, not only on the planning but the day. I think doing so loses your outlook on the point of the day. Which is just to celebrate your love with each other. I think we did that extremely well. We never fought or argued over anything. We both had equal amounts of input. And the day of, we had the mentality of “it is what it is.” Just let things flow as they may. Our day, it rained… terribly. But no stress.. it all cleared up, just as the ceremony ended and the party was beginning. Have fun… that is my best advice!
