You know you have met the right person when you can sit and talk with them for hours, yet it feels like seconds. This is exactly how Zoila and Carson – who recently had their engagement session at Old Westbury Gardens – knew they met the one.
Zoila and Carson met on a dating app. After talking for a while they decided it was time to meet up. So, they had their first date at “The Beast Next Door,” a bar in Long Island City. The two got to talking and time just flew by. After a few hours, they realized they were closing out the place.
After dating for a while, Zoila and Carson went on a week-long trip to Europe. While in Paris, they visited the Sacré-Cœur and bought one of the “locks of love.” The couple asked a tourist passing by if they could take a few photos of them kneeling next to the lock they placed. After taking a few, Carson asked the kind tourist to take one more. This was when he pulled out a ring and proposed to Zoila. It was a complete surprise to both Zoila and the tourist! The tourist was nice enough to record the entire thing from Carson’s phone.
For their engagement session, Zoila and Carson knew they wanted to be around flowers and greenery. So, the Old Westbury Gardens was a no brainer! The structures and elements of European influence were exactly what they were looking for.
One of our favorite things about engagement shoots is that it gives us the chance to get to know the couple, and the couple to get to know us. Zoila and Carson found it helpful in getting to know us as they are not used to taking pictures or posing in front of the camera. “Josh and Nicole made that part easy though. They worked super quickly but took great shots of us, even the candid ones captured our expressions so beautifully.”
Congratulations to the beautiful couple! We had such a great day at Old Westbury Gardens! Looking forward to the upcoming wedding!
