On a sunny fall morning, we met up with couple Jackie and Mike for their daytime engagement session at Astoria Park. It was great to get to know them before their big day!
Jackie and Mike met back in 2012. Both attending Providence College, they had just joined the same club to give tours around campus. The two became friends instantly. Just a year later, they took their friendship to the next level when Mike asked Jackie to be his date to graduation commencement weekend. Eight years later and they are still just as in love.
On July 13, 2019, Mike was ready to pop the question. He and Jackie love to spend time on their rooftop, looking over the city skyline, so he knew this was going to be the spot. Mike whisked Jackie upstairs and got down on one knee, asking her to be his wife. Of course, she said yes! The now-fiancees celebrated with their families later that evening.
For their engagement shoot location, Jackie and Mike wanted to pick somewhere special to the two of them. Since they often go for runs around Astoria Park as they live nearby, they knew they were going to do it there. The park had such great scenery and foliage but also displayed the city views.
Jackie and Mike opted to not go with a theme for their engagement session and kept what they wanted pretty simple. In fact, they only had a general idea of what they wanted, they left the rest up to us. “We trusted Nicole and Josh to photograph, and they did a great job picking spots around the park. We especially liked the arches under the Hellgate Bridge. Mike and I had not thought of that spot, but it was beautiful.
Spending time with you two at Astoria Park was so much fun! We cannot wait to see what’s in store for your wedding day!
