Just a week before their wedding, Kim and Mike roamed around Planting Fields Arboretum with us for their engagement session! What a way to get excited for their big day!
Kim and Mike met back in 2011. They were both starting their second year of law school when a mutual friend introduced them at a party. They hit it off right away and spent the rest of school together, making sure to study and luckily, pass the bar together. A few years later, they moved to Long Beach. Three years after that, they bought their first home together in Huntington (less than a half-mile away from our shop!)
In September 2018, Kim and Mike took a trip out to Montauk with 20 of their closest friends. It was Kim’s 30th birthday week and she was about to take part in an Olympic distance triathlon (is there anything she can’t do??) Mike, after 7 years, or as he says, 1 dog year, decided this moment was going to be the one. So, he took Kim over to a secret beach by a lighthouse for pictures. He set the camera for a timed picture and got down on one knee, asking Kim to marry him. Of course, Kim said yes and the entire crowd of surfers watching cheered!
Kim and Mike picked Planting Fields Arboretum after hearing how beautiful it was. “It was the perfect combination of nature and architecture.” We love this location and suggest it often to couples that are unsure of where to go.
They didn’t have much of a plan for their shoot, but Mike got really into the moment and picked up Kim, twirling her around. It had everyone laughing and smiling and completely comfortable in front of the camera. Not to mention, it made for some pretty awesome pictures.
Considering how much fun we had with Kim and Mike at Planting Fields Arboretum, we can’t wait to see what’s in store for their wedding in a week! Congratulations to the beautiful couple!
