Rustic and romantic were Allison and John’s plans for their wedding at The Loft at Bridgeview Yacht Club, and it is exactly what it panned out to be. Filled with dancing, love, and good food, this country loving couple had the wedding of their dreams!
Allison and John met at a bar in Farmingdale. John had just gotten off of a 16-hour shift so the two didn’t immediately hit it off. But as fate may have it, they had a mutual friend so they kept running into one another. From that point forward, the two were attached at the hip.
On the day John proposed, he told Allison he was taking her to dinner in the city. The two waited for their table by the water when John said, “okay, let’s go,” and directed Allison onto a private boat. The boat took them on a tour of New York City as they ate steak and sipped on wine. When they approached the Statue of Liberty, the captain asked if they wanted a picture together, so the couple walked toward the front if the boat. That’s when John gets on one knee and asks Allison to spend the rest of their lives together. A photographer came out and captured it all!
For her big day, Allison wore a mermaid-style Calla Blanche gown from Bridal Reflections of Massapequa. Her hair was pulled to the side for a sexy look and her makeup completed the glowing bride look. As for John, he donned a navy blue suit and white tie that Allison picked out from Sal’s Fashions.
All brides look forward to different moments of their wedding day. Allison was most looking forward to walking down the aisle. “All I saw was him, I was so nervous but it felt as if it was just and I the entire time. Aside from this highly important moment, the couple adored seeing everyone they love in one place and watching all the wedding plans come together.
As previously mentioned, Allison and John wanted a rustic theme which, luckily enough, The Loft at Bridgeview Yacht Club had. With huge chandeliers and other vintage items, their fairytale dreams all came true. They also added DIY decor such as the bar sign and seating chart. Everything, including the flowers, was simple, neutral, and elegant.
Allison’s advice for future brides? “You will survive. I felt that I wanted to make everyone happy so I tried to. WRONG! Keep in mind it’s YOUR day no one else’s. Everything falls into place and when it’s all done it will be beautiful and you will wish you were back to planning again. I was extremely stressed out and my husband kept telling me it’s going to be okay! And it was more than okay, it was amazing. Please enjoy the process and take everyone’s advice with a grain of salt. It will all be worth it, I promise.”
