The Brooklyn Bridge engagement shoot for couple Christina and Michael was a mix of history and romance, just like their relationship.
The couple met working at Target in 2009, after Christina’s older sister passed down her job. Michael and Christina became fast friends. Before Christina went to college, he confessed his love for her. Christina did not want to complicate their relationship, nor did she want to start anything before leaving for four years.
When Christina graduated, Michael immediately asked her on a date. He promised that if they did not have fun, they would forget the whole thing and go back to being just friends. After that first date in 2o12, they never looked back! Every year, the couple goes to the Museum of Natural History to see the Butterfly Exhibit. They kept this tradition alive, even when Christina was working in Florida for Disney, and Michael was here in NY. During one of these visits, the couple visited the museum and saved the Butterfly Exhibit for last.
As Christina looked up in wonder at the butterflies, her nephew walked in with a ring box and handed it to Mike. He knelt down on one knee and asked Christina to marry him. Both of their families cheered, as they watched from the glass wall of the butterfly house.
Since history is a big part of their relationship, they decided on Brooklyn for the shoot. The combination of Brooklyn’s rich history, old brick buildings and the NYC skyline framing the background made for the perfect scene.
Although it was a bit cold and windy during the session, we made sure to get all of the shots perfect.
Below is a testimony from Nicole on the shoot:
“Nicole and Josh were INCREDIBLE to work with! We were so thrilled with all of the locations and shots that Nicole and Josh helped us get! Josh climbed over rocks, and was on his tippy toes at some points to get the right lighting. Nicole was perfect at positioning us to get the best photos. Their communication with each other after each photo, to make each shot better than the next, meant so much to us. I can’t wait to see the photos and am so thankful we chose EXO! We knew when we booked it was the right decision, but our session yesterday reaffirmed that for us!
